LFG, short for looking for game, fills pickup games. Host one at a local park or court and everyone nearby who plays that sport gets pinged. Players RSVP, a waitlist fills open spots, and check-in happens on site.

What it does

LFG

Ping everyone nearby
Post a game and players who play that sport within your chosen radius, 5 to 50 miles, are notified. The host sees how many were reached.

A waitlist that runs itself
When a game fills, new players join the waitlist. If someone who’s going drops out, the first person waiting is moved in and told.

Check in on site
From 30 minutes before the start, players check in with their phone’s location inside the venue’s check-in area: a single court, a sports complex or a big park.

Reminders and nudges
Everyone going is reminded an hour before. A game still short of players a few hours out pings nearby players again and tells the host.

Live roster and chat
RSVPs, check-ins and the game chat update live for everyone on the game. The host’s messages notify every player.

Safety and privacy
Report or block anyone, and hosts can remove players. Home locations are never shown to other players, and daily ping limits and quiet hours keep notifications in check.

Under the hood

Front end: React 19 and Vite, installable as a web app; Capacitor 8 builds the Android and iOS apps from the same code
Back end: Supabase: Postgres with PostGIS for radius matching, row-level security, Realtime and Edge Functions
Notifications: In-app inbox and Web Push, with a scheduler that sends reminders and short-of-players nudges every minute
Maps: Leaflet and OpenStreetMap, with Photon venue search that ranks parks and courts first
Sports: 12 sports plus Other, each with its own default player counts and game length
